Provision of Medical Equipment and Supplies

An important part of Por Cristo’s work is the sourcing and shipping of medical equipment and supplies that are often very difficult or impossible to obtain locally.  Recent medical equipment and supplies shipments have gone to three community clinics in Guayaquil, Ecuador and the Baca Ortiz Hospital for Children in Quito, Ecuador.

 Recent shipments have included:

• Cardiac Echo machine 
• Cardio-pulmonary Bypass machine
• Cardiac Surgery medications
• Cardiac catheterization lab supplies
• Thermazene shipments for hospital burn units
• Furnishings for community clinics   

We thank our many donors and vendors who have supported our work and have sourced or provided donations. These include critical medicines, cardiac catheterization and cardiac OR supplies, as well as other very important medical supplies and equipment.  We are grateful to many, including: Caritas Christi/Steward Health Care;  Dr. Tom Hougen and the volunteers of the Por Cristo Cardiac Team; Covidien; Boston Childrens Hospital; Terumo Cardiovascular Systems; the Cook Group; Fenway Health Center, and  Florida Hospital.
